Visionary

Multi-talented, driven and purposeful, the Visionary is always looking for the next challenge, whether it’s climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro or climbing the corporate ladder. Assertive and individualistic, they’ll settle for nothing less than the best. If the phrase “in it to win it” were made into a motivational poster, we’re fairly certain it would feature your image. Like David Ogilvy or Don Draper tackling an award-winning ad campaign, you’re creative, project-oriented, assertive and driven. Whether you’re climbing the corporate ladder or Mount Kilimanjaro, you will push yourself to succeed at all costs – even to the brink of exhaustion. Don’t forget to take a break once in a while – we don’t want to find you burned out, ten years from now, making macramé at a hippy commune in Tahiti (but if you do, please make us a potholder!)
HOW THIS ARCHETYPES WORKS WITH OTHERS

Advocate

Partly cloudly

The warm and caring Advocate and the "win at all costs" Visionary share virtually nothing in common. Conflicting on key values, work style and approach, you won't find these two bonding at the water cooler. On the other hand, the respectful Advocate is unlikely to cause ripples, and the Visionary will be happy to keep things on a friendly basis - unless they come into direct conflict over human resource issues!

Caretaker

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

This pair is unlikely to form an especially strong team. Very different in their values and work styles, the gentle Caretaker is at risk of being overridden by the assertive and independent Visionary, who will not want to be held back by the Caretaker's concern for the human equation.

Dreamer

Partly cloudly

While climbing the corporate ladder, the Visionary strives to make it to the top as quickly as possible, whereas the Dreamer likes to stop and smell all of the pretty flowers along the way. These two will likely respect each other's creativity and ideas, but the Visionary and Dreamer are likely to clash on ethical principles. While mutual respect is possible, warm and fuzzy friendship is unlikely!

Go-Getter

Sunshine and roses

This driven duo share a disdain for sleep and a love of life in the fast lane (Ferrari optional). Similar in many ways, differences in leadership style are unlikely to prevent these two from making a trail blazingly good team.

Humanitarian

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

We won't find these too fighting... but that's only because the Humanitarian is just too darn nice to put the boxing gloves on. The Visionary's individualistic and driven attitude will likely rub the empathetic Humanitarian the wrong way. Like oil and water, these two simply won't mesh well together.

Idealist

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

It takes a lot for the Idealist to get riled up - and unfortunately, the Visionary is apt to push the Idealist to the brink. While both are excellent 'ideas' people, the Idealist and Visionary will conflict strongly over the values reflected in those ideas, and will fundamentally disagree on the importance of the ethical implications of everything from company policies to animal testing. Brace yourselves - the claws will come out!

Inventor

Sunshine and roses

The Inventor and Visionary share a love of innovation, creative ideas, and abstract thinking. Somewhat more enterprising and socially confident than the introverted Inventor, the Visionary is the ideal promoter of their shared ideas, while the Inventor has the patience to refine them. An excellent team!

Mastermind

Sunshine and roses

Assertive and independent, the Mastermind and Visionary are both quite driven and motivated by their ambitions. The Visionary's creative problem-solving has the potential to complement the Mastermind's firmly logical approach, making their joint ideas both innovative and practical. These two could make a dream team, bringing very different skills to the table.

Maverick

Sunshine and roses

Like twins separated at birth, only the most minor of differences separate the Visionary and the Maverick. Both are assertive, independent souls who love new ideas and experiences - the only difference being that the Maverick is slightly more interested in the human equation than the more cerebral Visionary. This duo will make a perfect, creative team, able to generate innovative, quirky solutions to complex problems.

Protector

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

With clashing values, the Protector and Visionary will butt heads on not only key values, but also leadership style. The Protector will dislike the Visionary's "win at all costs" attitude, while the Visionary is likely to roll his/her eyes at the Protector and say "ethics, shmethics!" Both assertive types, we may find these two in the boxing ring!

Rock

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

With virtually nothing in common, the Rock and Visionary's approaches might complement each other in the right setting - if the Visionary is the boss and the Rock the employee. If the Visionary is in a role equivalent to or below he Rock, however, the quiet, diligent Rock may begin to feel as the assertive, driven Visionary is steamrolling them.

Socialite

Sunshine and roses

This independent and creative duo lives for new challenges and fresh experiences! Although the Visionary might be impatient with the Socialite's lack of intellectual interests, their shared traits will likely make them an extremely good, complementary team. We expect to find these two planning their first skydiving trip in no time!

Straight Shooter

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

Face it: putting two Alpha personalities together is never a good idea! The Straight Shooter and the Visionary are both driven and strong-willed and are likely to conflict over who gets to be in charge. With very different approaches to problem solving, this pairing will cause chaos unless carefully mediated!

Strategist

Sunshine and roses

The Strategist and Visionary are a regular pair of brain-twins, sharing a love of ideas and creative problem-solving. These two will complement each other well, with the Strategist helping to rein in the Visionary's tendency to push an idea forward too quickly, and the Visionary inspiring and energizing the Strategist.

Technician

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

While the Visionary is in it to win it, the Technician is in it to fix it. Conflicting in every way possible, the Technician and Visionary are unlikely to make a good team. While these two may share a certain energy, the Technician will dislike the Visionary's ethics, and the Visionary won't mesh well with the Technician's style.

Visionary

Partly cloudly

These two are extremely driven, energetic and highly creative, so they have the potential to make an extremely dynamic and effective team. That being said, these two are highly competitive and are likely to compete with each other. The competition will hopefully be friendly and productive, but there is the potential for professional jealousy that can result in extreme conflict.
