Strategist

To the Strategist, life is a game of chess that they intend to win. An independent and creative thinker who likes to execute a calculated plan, they have high standards, a strong work ethic and a natural, laid-back authority. As someone who thrives on long-term planning and practicality, we’re betting that you probably had a solid retirement plan in place by age 7. You’re a natural leader thanks to your intelligence, strong work ethic and high standards. As a logical individual who relies on facts as opposed to instinct and values clarity, you may strike others as aloof and reserved. Although we may never find you singing “Express Yourself” on stage at a karaoke bar, it doesn’t mean you’re completely emotionless – you just don’t feel the need to put your feelings on display. To you, life is a game and you try to see how the different pieces move, just don’t ask us to play a game of Monopoly with you- we don’t like to lose.
HOW THIS ARCHETYPES WORKS WITH OTHERS

Advocate

Partly cloudly

Polar opposites, the Advocate is all about people, whereas the Strategist is all about ideas. Chalk and cheese, these two may conflict - however, both are fairly laid-back and open-minded and should be able to work together if they make an effort to see the other's point of view!

Caretaker

Partly cloudly

The Strategist will see the Caretaker as somewhat plodding and woolly, while the Caretaker will feel that the Strategist is a cold, intellectual robot who fails to take the human consequences of their ideas into account. While these two won't necessarily enjoy each other's company, the Caretaker's supportive nature and the Strategist's open-mindedness make serious conflict unlikely.

Dreamer

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

Dreamer versus Strategist - need we say more? Where the Dreamer appreciates imagination and feelings, the Strategist favors calculated logic and stability. Although similar in their independent nature, the Dreamer and Strategist are a mismatched pair, likely to rub each other the wrong way.

Go-Getter

Partly cloudly

Dynamic versus methodic - where the Go-Getter attacks life at high velocity, the Strategist approaches life like a well thought-out game of chess. Less of a people-person than the Go-Getter, the Strategist is likely to be impatient with the Go-Getter's need to be socially responsible, though s/he may envy their ability for rapid-fire problem-solving.

Humanitarian

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

Like the Tortoise and the Hare, the Humanitarian and Strategist approach life quite differently. The independent, energetic and goal-oriented Strategist may feel impatient with the Humanitarian's steady pace. On the flip side, the Humanitarian will likely disapprove of the Strategist's aloof attitude and, well, strategic take on life. Despite their shared emotional stability, this is not a good mix!

Idealist

Smooth sailing

On the surface, the warm-hearted Idealist and the logical, independent Strategist appear to be quite different. Although the Strategist is less empathetic than the Idealist, these two both enjoy looking at the bigger picture and will understand each other well. While these two aren't likely to socialize outside of work, they'll get along just fine in the workplace.

Inventor

Sunshine and roses

No doubt, these two were made for each other (awww!) Sharing a balance of scientific curiosity and imagination, the Strategist and Inventor are on the same wavelength in almost every way. When it comes to generating ideas and solving problems creatively, these two will be unstoppable.

Mastermind

Smooth sailing

This driven duo both possess a shared stability and similar core values and goals (duh, WINNING!) Despite these similarities, the Mastermind and Strategist both tackle problem-solving quite differently. If the practical, focused Mastermind is willing to loosen the reins and let the Strategist tackle idea-generation, this pair will get along just fine.

Maverick

Sunshine and roses

Sometimes opposites really do attract! Where the Strategist thrives on planning, the Maverick lives for variety - but despite their differences, these two should have no problem being good friends both at work and outside it thanks to their shared curiosity! These two will respect each other's differences and will work together in a complementary way without much conflict.

Protector

Smooth sailing

With a "cool as a cucumber" approach to life, the intellectual Strategist may perceive the Protector as something of a fluffy bunny for worrying so much about all those pesky feelings. Emotional differences aside, these two are highly similar in attitude, values and thinking style and will likely work well together without too much conflict. With complementary approaches, these two can potentially make a dynamic duo.

Rock

Partly cloudly

The Rock and Strategist differ in many ways, with the Strategist being dynamic and calculating where the Rock is introverted and supportive. Nonetheless, these two are both highly stable and laid-back. In addition, both have a crazy strong work ethic and appreciate good old-fashioned common sense, so it's not all Bad News Bears.

Socialite

Partly cloudly

The "cool as a cucumber" Strategist could potentially work well in combination with the Socialite's creativity and social skills. That being said, these two have different values and thinking styles, and with such vast emotional differences, they're apt to rub each other the wrong way from time to time.

Straight Shooter

Smooth sailing

This goal-oriented duo loves clear thinking, strategy and good old-fashioned logic. These similarities mean that the Strategist and Straight Shooter will mesh well when it comes to approach. However, the ever-practical Straight Shooter may not always see value in the Strategist's open-minded approach to problem-solving. If the Strategist can hold his/her own, this two will get along fine.

Strategist

Smooth sailing

If you need an "ideas" team, put these two together! Not only is this pair creative and driven, they're also quite flexible, meaning that they're unlikely to clash over different approaches and will be willing to listen to each other. The only downside is that these two may need a more grounded archetype in the mix to actually bring their ideas to implementation.

Technician

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

While the Technician is meticulously trying to solve problems on a case-by-case basis, the Strategist is looking at the bigger picture and playing life like a game of chess. Even though these two both share a strong work ethic and ultra-stable personalities, they're likely to butt heads due to their varying approaches.

Visionary

Sunshine and roses

The Strategist and Visionary are a regular pair of brain-twins, sharing a love of ideas and creative problem-solving. These two will complement each other well, with the Strategist helping to rein in the Visionary's tendency to push an idea forward too quickly, and the Visionary inspiring and energizing the Strategist.
