Inventor

Highly curious and creative, the Inventor approaches problems as exciting intellectual puzzles. Like any proper mad scientist, they enjoy working independently and perform best when given free range to explore issues. Admit it: you spent the first half of this analysis trying to figure out the algorithm, and the second half brainstorming how you could make it better. You’re eternally curious and creative in your own right. Extremely independent and with little care for social convention, you’re at your happiest when you’re locked up in your garage, pulling apart TVs and putting them back together to see how they work. With your mind always on the bigger picture, you could care less about trends, socializing, or whether or not your hair looks like Albert Einstein’s. When you finally get that time machine working, we get first dibs on a ride, OK Doc Brown?
HOW THIS ARCHETYPES WORKS WITH OTHERS

Advocate

Partly cloudly

Brainiac meets bleeding heart, the Inventor and the Advocate are not the most natural of partners thanks to their opposing values. Nonetheless, on a well-managed team, their different pattern of abilities could be made to balance and complement each other.

Caretaker

Smooth sailing

The Caretaker and Inventor have little in common, but because neither of these two is particularly aggressive about promoting their own opinion, they'll get along OK. Hardly a dynamic duo, you won't find these two winning any awards - but they won't do each other any harm either.

Dreamer

Smooth sailing

Although the Dreamer and Inventor appear to be quite different, these two will actually understand each other better than either is willing to admit thanks to their shared creativity and introversion. That being said, these two think quite differently, with the Dreamer typically being more right-brained, and the Inventor typically being more left-brained. Put those two together and what have you got? A whole lot of smarts.

Go-Getter

Smooth sailing

While the suave Go-Getter and creative Inventor aren't especially similar in personality, they're both equally zealous when it comes to taking on new projects. Because of this, they're likely to work amiably enough together - if the Go-Getter can sit still long enough!

Humanitarian

Partly cloudly

The empathic Humanitarian and scientific Inventor are so different that they're apt to clash like Mr. Spock and Dr. McCoy. While these two definitely have their differences, this pairing might work out if there's enough respect on both sides!

Idealist

Smooth sailing

Sure, the Inventor may find the Idealist's obsession with warm and fuzzy feelings a bit undesirable. Nonetheless, these two are both creative and scientifically curious and share similar intellectual styles. If the Idealist can keep his or her bleeding heart in check, they should work well together!

Inventor

Partly cloudly

These two are creative, independent, free thinkers, so they're likely to respect each other's intelligence and work well together if on the same wavelength. However, these two are quite independent and enjoy working in their own way, therefore they may conflict over differing approaches or ideas. This relationship is likely to be productive and rewarding, but may potentially be a bit chaotic.

Mastermind

Partly cloudly

The highly curious Inventor and the driven Mastermind aren't likely to mesh terribly well. The Inventor is apt to dislike the Mastermind's disinterest in abstract ideas, while the Mastermind may find the Inventor flaky and unambitious. Nonetheless, these two won't be battling each other anytime soon - they won't see each other as competition!

Maverick

Sunshine and roses

Throw these two into a cubicle and the ideas will flow like H2O from the office water cooler. Sharing a creative approach and many intellectual interests, the Inventor and Maverick will have plenty to talk about. For pure idea generation, there is probably no better team - although you might need to throw a more practical mind into the mix in order to get those ideas executed.

Protector

Smooth sailing

As introverted and independent "idea" people, the Inventor and Protector are similar enough. However, the Inventor lives in a world of abstract ideas, while the Protector is more interested in the human and ethical implications of those ideas. As long as the debate stays cordial, these two will balance each other nicely and make an excellent complementary team.

Rock

Partly cloudly

The Inventor's crazy solutions to problems and creative curiosity may be frustrating to the solid and practical Rock. Nonetheless, these two both enjoy working independently and have similar thinking styles, so it's not all rough waters.

Socialite

Smooth sailing

At face value, the somewhat introverted, highly intellectual Inventor seems very different from the sociable Socialite. In reality, these two are likely to respect each other's very different forms of creativity. These two are similar enough on core values to make a surprisingly effective team. It's what's inside that counts, man.

Straight Shooter

Smooth sailing

If the Straight Shooter is willing to harness the Inventor's creativity instead of dismissing it, these two have the potential to take over the world (and by world, we mean the board room). Though their thought process is different, these two share some key values and approaches, potentially making them a good team.

Strategist

Sunshine and roses

No doubt, these two were made for each other (awww!) Sharing a balance of scientific curiosity and imagination, the Strategist and Inventor are on the same wavelength in almost every way. When it comes to generating ideas and solving problems creatively, these two will be unstoppable.

Technician

Smooth sailing

Although these two are different in their thinking styles, the Technician and Inventor share some values... like a love for taking things apart and putting them back together again. In the right work environment, these two will work well together... just keep an eye on your electronics.

Visionary

Sunshine and roses

The Inventor and Visionary share a love of innovation, creative ideas, and abstract thinking. Somewhat more enterprising and socially confident than the introverted Inventor, the Visionary is the ideal promoter of their shared ideas, while the Inventor has the patience to refine them. An excellent team!
