Idealist

Intellectually curious and driven by strong morals, the Idealist is passionate about doing the right thing. Like the world’s most flattering mirror, they always see the best in others and strive to bring it out in them. Always looking for the best in people, you see the world through rose-colored glasses (which, by the way, are so twenty years ago!) Although you’re a reluctant leader, you’re a good one – you’re compassionate, diplomatic, nurturing and you tend to lead by example instead of by authority. While you’re usually flexible and laid-back, your claws will come out if you feel someone is violating your value system. An abstract thinker, you enjoy looking at the bigger picture and encouraging others to do the same. And hey – when you figure out the meaning of life, don’t forget to let us know, OK?
HOW THIS ARCHETYPES WORKS WITH OTHERS

Advocate

Partly cloudly

As nurturing individuals, you'd expect the Idealist and the Advocate to get along like PB&J. The truth is, these two may not necessarily get along! In fact, the Advocate is likely to find the Idealist's creativity and curiosity an inappropriate distraction from focusing on the human equation, whereas the independent Idealist may find the Advocate a wee bit too clingy.

Caretaker

Sunshine and roses

A compassionate and sensitive duo, the Idealist and Caretaker both love a supportive work environment, a steady pace and patchouli incense. OK, we're kidding about the incense - but these two are apt to get along well socially. Although the Caretaker may be a bit more hands-on than the intellectual Idealist, these two will complement each other well.

Dreamer

Smooth sailing

These two laid back, peace-loving personality types are alike in many regards, the only difference being that the Idealist is more intellectually curious and a little less emotional than the sensitive Dreamer. Likely to respect and understand each other, they work well together. Peace, love and TPS reports, man.

Go-Getter

Smooth sailing

The Go-Getter share more than just an empathic and egalitarian approach - these two love to look at the bigger picture. With this pair, the sky's the limit! The only hiccup in this relationship: the Go-Getter may find the Idealist's preference for a slower pace frustrating.

Humanitarian

Sunshine and roses

Like Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Idealist and the Humanitarian are so much alike, you could mistake them for the same person. Although the Idealist may be a bit more intellectually curious than the Humanitarian, these two will bond over their supportive, idealistic outlook and are likely to work exceptionally well together!

Idealist

Smooth sailing

Idealists are tolerant, compassionate souls with a strong sense of humility, so two of them together are likely to get along very well. Even if they have quite different backgrounds or approaches, their shared traits will help them find common ground. The only downside? These two philosophical souls may get distracted from work by scientific or literary discussions!

Inventor

Smooth sailing

Sure, the Inventor may find the Idealist's obsession with warm and fuzzy feelings a bit undesirable. Nonetheless, these two are both creative and scientifically curious and share similar intellectual styles. If the Idealist can keep his or her bleeding heart in check, they should work well together!

Mastermind

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

Like oil and water, the Idealist and Mastermind simply won't get along. These two are bound to disagree on everything from ethics to work ethic. They could learn something from each other's perspective if they could stop arguing long enough - which isn't likely! The Mastermind will see the Idealist as a plodding, oversensitive philosopher, while the Idealist perceives the Mastermind as too focused on their pursuit of personal success.

Maverick

Partly cloudly

While their shared creative and curious thinking style might make for great brainstorming sessions, you won't find the Idealist and Maverick meeting up for happy hour drinks any time soon. In fact, the Maverick's exuberant independence, love of risk and extreme extraversion may leave the introspective and laid-back Idealist feeling slightly shell-shocked.

Protector

Sunshine and roses

This is a passionate pairing (don't worry, not in the "office romance" sense). The Idealist and Protector both feel strongly about doing good and upholding their morals. While the Idealist is a bit more creative, outgoing and curious than the Protector, these two share strong key values, making them a good, solid team!

Rock

Smooth sailing

While the Idealist's creativity and intellectual curiosity is at odds with the Rock's ever-practical nature, both archetypes are ultra-supportive and will respect each other's ideas. The dutiful and hardworking Rock will likely appreciate the Idealist's strong moral compass - you'll never catch this pair clocking out early or enjoying liquid lunches!

Socialite

Partly cloudly

The Idealist will use his or her rose colored glasses to find the best in The Socialite, but s/he will have a hard time relating to the Socialite's outgoing, "live in the moment" approach to life. On the flip side, the Socialite might find the Idealist a little too calm for his or her taste. These two will get the work done, but they'll have a hard time understanding each other in the process.

Straight Shooter

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

Sure, the Inventor may find the Idealist's obsession with warm and fuzzy feelings a bit undesirable. Nonetheless, these two are both creative and scientifically curious and share similar intellectual styles. If the Idealist can keep his or her bleeding heart in check, they should work well together!

Strategist

Smooth sailing

On the surface, the warm-hearted Idealist and the logical, independent Strategist appear to be quite different. Although the Strategist is less empathetic than the Idealist, these two both enjoy looking at the bigger picture and will understand each other well. While these two aren't likely to socialize outside of work, they'll get along just fine in the workplace.

Technician

Sunshine and roses

While the Idealist a bit more creative and personable than the practical and introverted Technician, these two are both curious creatures that love to learn. This pair is apt to be quite supportive and work well together in a team environment.

Visionary

Cloudy with a chance of conflict

It takes a lot for the Idealist to get riled up - and unfortunately, the Visionary is apt to push the Idealist to the brink. While both are excellent 'ideas' people, the Idealist and Visionary will conflict strongly over the values reflected in those ideas, and will fundamentally disagree on the importance of the ethical implications of everything from company policies to animal testing. Brace yourselves - the claws will come out!
